Asghar Farhadi is regarded as one of the masters of today’s cinema. His elegant, yet shocking style of cinema is applauded by critics, and audiences alike. Farhadi made his directorial debut, Dancing in the Dust (2003). The film earned recognition at Fajr, and Moscow IFF. His film, About Elly (2009) won the Silver Bear for Best Director at 59th Berlin IFF as well as Best Picture at Tribeca FF. His film, A Separation (2011) was awarded Golden Bear from Berlin IFF, multiple other awards at various festivals, and ultimately Golden Globe, and the Oscar for the 'Best Foreign Language Film’. With The Salesman (2016) Farhadi won the award for Best Screenplay at Cannes and, his second Oscar.
