Seenu Ramasamy is an Indian filmmaker, screenwriter and poet who predominantly works in Tamil cinema. He made his directorial debut with Koodal Nagar (2007). He garnered acclaim for the film Thenmerku Paruvakaatru, which went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil. His next film Neerparavai (2012) also released to positive reviews. Dharma Durai (2016) was a box-office success.
Murugan was a small-time meat seller like his childhood friend Gayatri and fell in love with her, who is a strict vegetarian. Due to her nature and habit, Murugan closes his meat shop & starts gracing goats only with his mother. In Between Gayatri’s father arranges Gayatri’s marriage with a politician’s elder brother who is a divorcee. Knowing this on approaching Gayatri’s father, Murugan comes to know that Rs.20 Lakhs borrowed money has been given to Politician Maran for making Gayatri as permanent Govt employee. Murugan goes to Maran to get the money and in the scuffle Politician Maran loses his life. Murugan got implicated in a false declaration by Gayatri, compelled by her father for wrong reasons. He tries to escape from prison two times and meets another life imprisonment convict, who becomes closer for saving his life in the prison. He helps Murugan to escape from the prison to avenge Gayatri for implementing him on false declaration.
