Director's Biography:

 Piet Baumgartner

Piet Baumgartner is an experienced visual artist, film and theater director. He is interested in people, machines and emotions. His production EWS about the biggest political scandal in the Swiss parliament was named best play of the year. Piet Baumgartner‘s documentary The Driven Ones about the business elite of tomorrow was invited to compete at the world‘s most important documentary film festival IDFA and was nominated for the Swiss Film Award. Piet has been honored with national and international awards. The origin of Bagger Drama is the music video Through My Street, which was created in 2015 with the musician Rio Wolta.

Synopsis:

A family finds it difficult to talk about feelings, love or intimacy. The family business demands their full attention: renting, selling and repairing excavators. Everyone has to pitch in. When the daughter has a fatal accident, the family stops functioning. The son would rather go to the USA than take over the company. The father takes a liking to the new choir director and the mother suddenly finds herself alone. A new Heimatfilm with people searching and machines dancing.
