This story follows two young cousins, a boy named Atta and a girl named Masi, as they navigate the innocence of childhood in 1953 Tehran, unaware of the political turmoil gripping the city during the American-backed coup in Iran. Living in their grandmother's old house, the two face the absence of their fathers—Atta's in prison, and Masi's lost to death. Their carefree days take a dark turn when their aunt, Marzi, accuses Davoud, Masi's brother and Atta’s idol, of stealing her jewelry. Pressured and unwilling, Atta is forced to identify Davoud as the thief through the reflection in a fortune-teller’s mirror, shattering their world of trust and love. Decades later, 77-year-old Atta Ameri returns to Iran to visit the old house, where memories of childhood bonds, betrayal, and enduring emotions come flooding back.
