Born in Arak in 1979, Mohammad Hamzei is an Iranian director and actor. He has a bachelor's degree in cinema. He started his professional career in the field of cinema by working as directors’ assistant and has appeared in more than thirty different movies and TV series with filmmakers such as Iraj Karimi, Farzad Motaman, Mohammad Hossein Latifi, Hojat Qasemzadeh. In his artistic career, Hamzei has directed more than twenty short, half-length and television films including As Always, Near or Far, According to a Habit – and other video works. He has won several awards from domestic festivals such as Tehran Short Film Festival. In 2017, Hamzei directed his debut feature film, Azar.
