Director's Biography:

 Joel Calero

Joel Calero is a screenwriter and film director born in Huancayo, Peru in 1968. He is one of the two Latin American writers/directors who has obtained the prestigious screenwriting scholarship from the Film Project Development Course Ibero-Americans from the Carolina Foundation for their films. The Last Afternoon (2016), the first film in his film-political trilogy, narrates the emotional and political reunion of a couple of ex-subversives. This film won several international awards, among which the Best Director at the 32nd Festival stands out at the International Film Festival in Guadalajara and Best Screenplay at the 45th Film Festival from Gramado. The Most Feared Skin (2024) is the second film in the trilogy. Family Album is the film that closes the trilogy.

Synopsis:

Alex will soon be a father. In a warehouse, he discovers some deeply disturbing family photographs. Some suggest his mother's marital infidelity; others, the participation of his father, a retired officer, in various acts of violence. Alex's investigation will take him to a town devastated years before by the violence of the internal armed conflict to discover their true and intricate family album.
